Legal & Regulatory Position

Our legal and regulatory position, in plain English.

Last updated 7 October 2026Governing law: England & WalesController: LaunchLane Partners Limited, registered in England & Wales (company number 17452137)

This page explains what LaunchLane Partners is, what it is not, how responsibility is shared between the software and the humans who use it, and where our liability ends. It should be read alongside the Terms of Service and Privacy Notice.

What LaunchLane Partners is

LaunchLane Partners is a software workspace for founders and startup teams. It helps you structure, draft and iterate on your go-to-market strategy — positioning, messaging, go-to-market plans, channel planning and product–market-fit evidence — and uses artificial intelligence to assist with drafting and recommendations inside that workflow.

  • A software-as-a-service product supplied over the internet.
  • A strategic workflow and drafting aid — a place to organise your thinking, not a source of it.
  • An AI-assisted tool: recommendations are generated by large language models from the content you provide.
  • A collaboration platform: teammates can be invited to a shared workspace with defined roles.

What LaunchLane Partners is not

To avoid any doubt, LaunchLane Partners is not, and does not provide:

  • Legal, financial, tax, accounting or investment advice. Nothing in the product is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.
  • A consultancy or agency service. We do not review your individual business, and no advisor–client or fiduciary relationship is created by using the software.
  • A guarantee of outcomes. We do not promise product–market fit, revenue, fundraising success, investor interest or any commercial result.
  • A regulated activity. LaunchLane Partners is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority or any other regulator, and does not carry on any regulated activity.
  • A source of market data or benchmarks. Figures, comparators and sector references generated by the AI are illustrative, not measured data, and must not be relied on as statistics.
  • An automated decision-maker. The software makes no decisions about you or your business; it proposes, and a human decides.

Strategic workflow and software assistance

The service provides structure and assistance, not answers. It sequences strategic work so that later modules build on work you have reviewed and confirmed, it drafts content and recommendations using AI, and it records your accept and reject decisions so later suggestions respect them. That is the whole of what the software does. The strategy that results is yours: conceived, reviewed, confirmed and acted on by you.

Human decision responsibility

Every recommendation LaunchLane Partners produces is a proposal, not an instruction. You — the founder or workspace member — remain solely responsible for:

  • reviewing AI-generated content before relying on it or confirming it downstream;
  • verifying any factual claim, figure or market reference before using it with customers, investors or partners;
  • every business decision you take, whether or not it was informed by something the software suggested;
  • ensuring the content you upload is lawful, accurate and yours to use; and
  • compliance with the laws that apply to your own business.

The product is deliberately designed around this principle: modules gate downstream work behind explicit human confirmation, and recommendations require an accept or reject decision from a person.

AI limitations

Recommendations are generated by large language models (currently Google's Gemini family, accessed through Lovable's AI gateway). You should understand their limits:

  • AI output can be wrong, incomplete, outdated or confidently incorrect ("hallucinated").
  • The models have a knowledge cut-off and do not know current market conditions, prices or competitor moves unless you supply that context.
  • The confidence indicator shown with a recommendation is the model's own self-assessment of how well your context supports it — it is not a statistically calibrated probability.
  • Rejected recommendations are filtered out of future suggestions using similarity matching; this reduces repetition but cannot guarantee a different idea will never resemble one you rejected.
  • AI-generated figures, benchmarks and sector claims are illustrative, not measured data.
  • Output quality depends on the quality and completeness of what you enter.

GDPR and data handling

We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. In summary (the Privacy Notice and Data Processing Addendum are the full statements):

  • For your account data, we act as data controller; for content your workspace uploads, we generally act as processor on your instructions.
  • Your content is sent to an AI provider to generate recommendations; this is disclosed, and the providers involved are listed on our Subprocessors page.
  • You have the usual UK GDPR rights — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection — and can exercise most of them yourself in your account settings, including full export and deletion.
  • We keep security measures appropriate to a product of this kind, described on the Security page.
